BIMA has submitted evidence to the UK Government’s Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Inquiry, which seeks to explore how the UK and its allies can contribute to a ceasefire and a lasting resolution to the war in Gaza and Lebanon.

We are pleased to confirm that our submission has now been published on the official UK Parliament website. In our evidence, we called for:

  • The suspension of arms sales to uphold ethical and legal responsibilities.
  • The protection of medical neutrality to safeguard healthcare workers and facilities.
  • The unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to those in urgent need.

The protection of healthcare in conflict zones is absolutely essential and must be upheld in accordance with international humanitarian law to ensure that medical professionals can provide lifesaving care without fear of targeting or obstruction.
