Dr. Jason Wong MBE is the Chief Dental Officer for England, appointed in April 2024 after serving as Deputy and Interim CDO. A general dental practitioner and partner at The Maltings Dental Practice in Grantham, he has led local dental networks across the Midlands and East of England. Recognised with an MBE in 2020 for services to dentistry and oral health, Dr. Wong is committed to improving patient outcomes within the healthcare system.

Sayeeda, Baroness Warsi, Britain’s first Muslim Cabinet Minister, is a lawyer, businesswoman, and racial justice campaigner. Listed among the 500 most influential Muslims globally, she was appointed to the House of Lords at 36 and has served as Chairman of the Conservative Party, in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and as Minister for Faith and Communities. She is an advisor at the Bridge Institute in Georgetown University in Washington DC, a member of the International Advisory Board on FORB at the University of Notre Dame, and Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Bolton. Sayeeda is also an author, TV presenter, and the host of the award-winning podcast A Muslim and A Jew Go There.

Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh OBE is the Nuffield Professor and Head of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford, and a Professorial Fellow at Harris Manchester College. He advises governments and global bodies including WHO and the World Bank. His work focuses on digitising health systems and linking data to improve care and inform policy. He co-edited Caring for Muslim Patients and Palliative Care for South Asians. Aziz is a fellow of ten learned societies and has received multiple awards. He was appointed OBE in 2014 and knighted in 2022 for services to COVID-19 research.

Dr Zubir Ahmed MP is the Labour Member of Parliament for Glasgow South West. A former transplant and vascular surgeon, he holds an MB ChB from the University of Glasgow, an MSc from UCL, a PhD from King’s College London, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde. He has served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting. Dr Ahmed is a fellow of the European Board of Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is married to a respiratory doctor and has two children.

Huda is the CEO and co-founder of Caafi Health, Co-Chair of the Race & Health Equity group, and Co-Chair of the Bristol Inner City and East Locality Partnership. A qualified Emergency Nurse Practitioner and UWE graduate, she brings clinical expertise and lived experience to her leadership. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she supported disproportionately impacted communities, sparking her commitment to tackling health inequalities. Through her work, she champions inclusive policy, co-designed services, and representative research. A mother of four and passionate advocate for equity, she speaks powerfully on the intersection of health, race, faith, and community empowerment inclusion and belonging.

Professor Raghib Ali OBE is CEO, Chief Investigator, and Chief Medical Officer of Our Future Health; Clinical Epidemiologist at the University of Cambridge; Consultant in Acute Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust; and Honorary Consultant with the Office for Health Disparities and Improvement. A Cambridge graduate, he holds postgraduate degrees in Epidemiology and Public Health from London, Cambridge, and Oxford, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He was awarded an OBE in 2022 for services to the NHS and the COVID-19 response, and elected Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health in 2023.

Recep Şentürk is the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the Founding President of Usul Academy. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Columbia University, specialising in Civilisation Studies, Sociology, and Islamic Studies, with a focus on human rights, modernisation, and social networks in the Muslim world. Şentürk was also the founding president of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul and has served as a researcher at the Centre for Islamic Studies (İSAM) in Istanbul. He has authored numerous books, including Âdamiyyah and Modernisation and Societal Sciences in the Muslim World. His works have been translated into several languages.

Dr Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed is a specialist registrar in hepatology and gastroenterology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She made history as the first doctor to win the BBC’s MasterChef in 2017. Since then, she has authored three cookbooks: Khazana, Foodology, and The Kitchen Prescription, focusing on gut health and nutrition. Dr Mahmood-Ahmed holds an MSc in Clinical Obesity and Nutrition from UCL, where she was awarded the Dean’s List prize. She is also an ambassador for Bowel Research UK, promoting awareness of gut health and bowel diseases.

Iqbal Nasim MBE is an educator, speaker and writer, former investment banker (2006-11) and non-profit leader – he was Chief Executive of National Zakat Foundation 2012-21. He is also one of three cofounders of Funders In Good, a venture philanthropy fund.

For the last three years, his focus has been on delivering transformational educational content on the topics of prayer, giving, leadership and revelation. He is an adviser and mentor to dozens of emerging and existing leaders of social ventures, from startups to large organisations.

Samia is a Consultant in Communicable Disease Control and Global Health Protection at the UK Health Security Agency. She chairs the agency’s Race Equality Network and serves as Chair of the Faculty of Public Health’s EDI Committee. A mentor, GMC appraiser, and educational supervisor, her interests include health protection, inclusive leadership, global public health, and mental health. Samia leads the Women in Global Health Pakistan–UK Alliance and is a passionate advocate for equity, using her lived experience to champion anti-racism, intersectionality, and compassionate, inclusive healthcare systems.

Burhan Wazir is Editor-in-Chief of Hyphen, a UK-based digital platform focusing on Muslim communities. An award-winning Scottish journalist, he has previously worked at The Observer, The Times, Al Jazeera and Coda Story. He has contributed to The New Statesman, Financial Times, and other prominent outlets, and produced documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4. Named Press Gazette’s Young Journalist of the Year in 1999, Burhan now leads Hyphen’s coverage across politics, society, arts, and culture, with a focus on diverse and inclusive storytelling.

Dr Ammad Butt is a FY2 doctor and writer commentating on health policy based in Birmingham. His words can be found in national newspapers such as The Guardian, The Independent, I Paper as well as political magazines such as The Spectator and UnHerd. He is an awardee of the 2025 Wellcome Collection Non-Fiction prize for his book proposal, The International Health Service.

Dr Aaliya Goyal is a GP and Occupational Health Physician, holding leadership roles in both specialties. She is a past Training Programme Director and ICB Clinical Leadership Executive in Health Inequalities, Ethnic Minority Health and Population Health. She has shared her extensive lived, clinical and leadership experience at multiple national conferences, in media appearances, online education platforms and opinion pieces in the BMJ, BJGP and more. She has been awarded Membership of the Faculty of Public Health through Distinction for work to overcome health inequalities and awards from the RCGP, the Society of Occupational Medicine, APNA NHS and EqualityX, among others, for her influence and contribution.

Dr Mahera is a certified parenting and family coach with over 25 years’ experience supporting families and young people to build stronger, more collaborative relationships. She has led parenting courses for over 15 years, offering culturally and faith-sensitive coaching, mediation, and workshops. In 2012, she founded Blooming Parenting to provide faith-sensitive parenting programs. An academic at The Open University, she has also held roles at Goldsmiths, UCL IOE, and the University of West London. Her research on bilingual learning includes co-authoring Interconnecting Worlds and Family Jigsaws, both published by IOE Press.

Dr Mahibur Rahman graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine and is currently a Portfolio GP in Birmingham, specialising in GP and community drug and alcohol detox. He is the medical director of Emedica, having taught over 82,000 delegates since 2005. Dr Rahman is an author for the Prescribing Safety Assessment (PSA), an OSCE examiner for Liverpool Medical School, and has worked as an external consultant in medical education for Warwick University. He passed MRCGP with merit in 2007 and was awarded FRCGP in 2019 for his contributions to medical education and humanitarian medicine, with deployments to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Greece, and Bangladesh.

Dr Sameer Ahmed is a Consultant Anaesthetist in Newcastle upon Tyne and the IMG Tutor for Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust. He co-leads the IMG workstream for NHS Education North East, supporting international doctors through mentorship and advocacy. Passionate about cultural safety and inclusion, he promotes diversity and culturally responsive practice in healthcare. Dr Ahmed has been active in the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA) for over a decade, leading multiple initiatives and served in its Council to support Muslim healthcare professionals and improve national health outcomes.

Dr. Saeed Ahmed is a Consultant Nephrologist with 18 years of experience and Clinical Director at South Tyneside Sunderland Foundation Trust. A Leeds Medical School graduate, he has been a longstanding BIMA member, contributing to various workstreams, including successful collaboration with NHSBT on organ donation. As NHS WTE East IMG co-lead, he promotes national and local IMG policies, driving his interest in cultural competency. Nationally, he chairs the UK Kidney Association’s Interventional Nephrology group. Dr Rizwan Malik is a leading radiologist with expertise in digital imaging, health tech, and AI in healthcare. He studied medicine at Cambridge and London, joined Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in 2006, and became Divisional Medical Director in 2020. Rizwan advises imaging suppliers and leads SMR Health & Tech, a consultancy focused on innovation in imaging and AI.
