In September, we once again joined hands with the NHS to host a series of community health events aimed at helping individuals and families take proactive steps towards better health. These events were held in various major cities across the UK and offered a range of services, including health checks and discussions with local healthcare professionals, vaccination information, and guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

These community health days aligned with BIMA’s mission to bridge clinical expertise with community needs. By providing a relaxed and safe environment for individuals to engage with healthcare professionals, BIMA aimed to empower people to take control of their health and make a positive impact on their communities.

During these events, experts provided advice on various health topics, including managing long-term conditions, maintaining a healthy diet, and making informed decisions about vaccinations to protect against COVID-19, flu, and other serious diseases. We aimed to dispel myths, discuss vaccine safety, and provide guidance on suitable dietary choices according to Muslim scholars.

The one-day community health events took place in Bradford, Leicester, London, Birmingham, and Sheffield, each offering valuable information on common health conditions such as diabetes, menopause, heart disease, immunizations, mental health, and respiratory diseases. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in informative workshops, interactive sessions, and consultations with healthcare professionals.

When planning this national tour, it was important for us to provide a proactive approach to health and well-being. Through these Health Days, we aimed to provide a platform for communities to access essential information, screenings, and resources that contribute to their overall well-being.

The events were open to all, and we were so pleased to see that attendees brought friends and family to share this enriching experience. Inclusivity and community involvement were are the forefront of our mission, and we were delighted to see it all come together.

Our partnership with the NHS in hosting these community health events reflects our dedication to promoting health and well-being within the Muslim community and beyond. By empowering individuals with knowledge and resources, BIMA continues to make a positive impact on the health and lives of countless individuals and communities. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing volunteers, our event organisers and the NHS.

Above all, we thank Allah (swt) for allowing us to continue to amplify the importance of good health in the Muslim community across Britain.

JazakAllahu Khayran all attendees!

We don’t stop here. Insha’Allah we’re hoping to continue to deliver more health days across the UK. Stay updated!
