The Assisted Suicide Bill threatens the most vulnerable in our communities—those who are elderly, disabled, or terminally ill—by introducing a dangerous shift in how we view the value of life.

As healthcare professionals guided by ethical and religious principles, we believe in compassionate care, dignity, and support for those at their most vulnerable. Assisted suicide risks pressuring individuals into ending their lives due to societal, financial, or emotional burdens. No safeguards can fully prevent coercion or unintended consequences.

This bill undermines the trust at the heart of the doctor-patient relationship and devalues palliative care efforts that focus on providing comfort, not death.

The time to act is now. We must stand together to protect those at risk and promote a society where every life is valued.
