This Islamophobia Awareness Month, we’re highlighting the urgent need to recognise and tackle Islamophobia in healthcare.

Over the past months, we’ve been engaging with key organisations and stakeholders to push for meaningful change. We have:

  • Written to the Race and Health Observatory (RHO) and the British Medical Association (BMA), calling for explicit recognition of Islamophobia and its impact on Muslim patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Contacted Steve Reed MP, urging the government to publish the long-awaited recommendations from the Working Group on Islamophobia/Anti-Muslim Hate.

Islamophobia has real, measurable effects on health outcomes, workplace experiences, and access to care. Recognition is the first step toward accountability and action.

We’ll continue to advocate for a healthcare system that is equitable, inclusive, and safe for everyone, including Muslim communities.
